Deckhand Collaborative Apprenticeship/Training

The Deckhand Training Program is aimed at fostering an alternative pathway to careers in the Maritime industry. The opportunity is available for individuals who identify as BIPOC and/or who identify with being from a historically underrepresented marginalized group.

Trainees undergo a hands- on comprehensive approach,  focusing on deckhand skills to support crews on Tugboats. The training program covers all expenses including essential safety equipment and financial support for necessary working permits and licenses.

Please note Training/Apprenticeship session is an intensive 2 week observing and hands-on opportunity. Participants support Captain's & their crews of 4 (on avg.) as an additional crew member.
